Use | 4-methyl-2-methylthiopyrimidine is a heterocyclic organic compound and can be used as a pharmaceutical intermediate. |
preparation | in argon atmosphere, to NaOH(7.46g,186.4mmol) water (120mL) solution 4-methylpyrimidine -2-thiol hydrochloride (13.78g,84.7mmol), then add methyl iodide (13.23g,93.2mmol) dropwise. Stir at room temperature for 2 hours, then extract with CH2Cl2(2x) . The organic phase is dried by Na2SO4 and concentrated to dryness. The crude product obtained was purified by silica gel chromatography, and a hexane-EtOAc mixture with increased polarity was used as an eluent to obtain 10.26g of the required compound (yield: 86%). |
